The purpose of this paper is to investigate the order tracking technique and to study the dynamic characteristic of an engine. The transverse and axial vibration signals of the engine were extracted by accelerometers. This study employs order tracking based on re-sampling. The time domain of the vibration signal was transformed to an order domain in order to analyze engine dynamics. Vibration signatures of engine malfunctions can be obtained by order analysis from experimental data. The results are useful for fault detection and diagnosis of engine faults. |
