The National Science and Technology Museum has been long devoted to popular science education. The museum has developed a variety of teaching activities and aids according to the different themes in permanent and temporary exhibits. Those teaching aids have been tested many times by multiple market challenges. With learning and entertainment features, these teaching aids have become unique assets in the museum.The core staff in the exhibition planning group for Magicland exhibit is from the museum education department. With years of development experiences in teaching aids, the planning group aims to design and provide a more interactive exhibition to visitors by involving directly in exhibit design. Based on the museum learning theory this research explores the key points of interface design for children and family audiences as well as interactive exhibits. The core concept and consideration in developing interactive exhibits is further explored and some practical examples are integrated into this paper.Solid research is the foundation for a successful exhibition. A good partnership with design and construction companies helps achieve exhibition goals. Some in-field observation statistics were collected after the exhibition was opened to the public. In the last part of this article, these statistics are applied to review the achievement of the whole project. These results will be developed into formal surveying tools in the future. |
