Most of the researches related with science and technology exhibition focused on the reaction and learning outcomes of the visitors. Those researches were developed under the scenario which regarded exhibition as an existing situation and the issues of how to shape the exhibition concept and exhibition interpretations were rarely discussed. This research explores two parts: one is to discuss the essential qualities and intrinsic nature of the technology. The other is to explore the meaning of technology towards exhibition designer as well as the relationship between exhibition and technology education from the viewpoint of exhibition interpretation.From exploring theories of technology philosophy and material culture, as well as investigating practical practice of planning and the mission of designer, this research finds that exhibition concept is the base to turn technology into exhibiton. Exhibition concept is influenced by the subjective viewpoint of designer. Exhibition planning depends on designer's understanding of technology as well as all the conditions that the designer has obtained. It is necessary to further explore and understand designers in science and technology museum and this research can be the theory base for further study. |
