Exhibitions are always the most public and visible works in museums. Thus, they should be considered the core educational works of any museum. However, both permanent and temporary exhibitions are labor-intensive and time-consuming in regard of the process of planning, presentation design and maintenance. Each step cannot be ignored, and yet the public might not appreciate the final product. Therefore, building a productive team to develop an effective exhibition becomes an important concept. A whole exhibition team requires an exhibit developer who takes charge of communication and coordination. The entire project is carried out by designers, maintainers, educators, and marketing staff. If possible, researchers of the exhibit should be involved also. An exhibit developer is responsible for accepting each team member's ideas fairly and promoting collaboration among his members. In addition, an exhibition team approach should be considered as an effective strategy for museums. |
