To effectively control food, medicinal products and cosmetics on the market, prohibitillegal matters, prevent and control drug abuse and align with international managementstandards. Food and Drug Bureau, Department of Health was recognized as Food andDrug Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare on July 23, 2013.Based on the administrative policies of Executive Yuan, TFDA aims to strengthenthe control of food and medicinal products sources, production and distribution, thedirections of raw materials and import products to achieve product transparency, protectconsumer’s safety and provide an environment of “safe drug and healthy food” for theconsumers (Figure 9-1).
