This article describes the nursing experience of a patient with end stage lung cancer to cope with her physical discomfort, psychological impact, and spiritual burden. Patient-centered care was provided from January 23th, 2015 to February 13th, 2015. The author provided hospice care individually to relieve patients’ dyspnea and improve physical comfort, and tried to listen and understand her psychological impact of the disease in order to help her expressing gratitude, remorse, love, and farewell to whom she took to heart. Nursing staff should support end-stage patients to ensure their mal days be meaningful and dignified and continuously study and improve psychological counseling and communication skills for dying patients on their fmal journey. |
