Observation of the Marshall's Military Mediation Process in China from Diaries

1945年12月20日，以美國總統杜魯門特使身份來華的馬歇爾，肩負著來華調停國、共雙方軍事衝突的任務。馬歇爾在抵華後一年多的時間內，除中間短暫返回美國述職外，這段期間內頻繁地在國、共雙方領導人以及代表們之間進行溝通協商，但成效仍未如預期，來華調停之任務最後宣告失敗，於1947年1月8日離華返美。 本文即試圖以此為開端，以當時多位中國與美國方面的時人日記或資料，並輔以目前已開放之檔案與史料，來探討此一議題。

On December 20, 1945, Marshall, who came to China as U.S. President Truman special envoy, came to assume the military mediation mission to KMT and CPC.During the more than one year after his arrival in China, Marshall made frequent communications with leaders of KMT and CPC, except for the brief return to the United States. However, the results did not come as expected, the mission of military mediation in China was finally failure. It returned to the United States on January 8, 1947.This article attempts to begin with this, with many diaries or historical documents of the time in China and the United States, supplemented by the already opne historical documents, discuss this issue.
