The topic of “Taiwanese Businessmen-Owned Banks” in Mainland China has drawn much attention from the authorities and the media recently. From a practical point of view, the development of Taiwanese businessmen in Mainland China is often confronted with difficulties in raising capital. The establishment of a “Taiwanese Businessmen-Owned Banks” will appropriately solve the financing problem for Taiwanese businessmen. Therefore, the issue really has its own significance. We attempt to analyze the issue of launching “Taiwanese Businessmen-Owned Banks” in Mainland China to understand the current development of the corresponding policies, the possible impact on the Cross-Strait finance and Taiwanese businessmen in Mainland China, and the possible problems in the future. We argue that “Taiwanese Businessmen-Owned Banks” may face some problems in the future, such as political turmoil, limited funding sources, restrictions on business operations, geographical restrictions, the lack of market positioning and management characteristic, the shortage of financial talent and higher capital cost. Finally, we conclude and propose some recommendations for the possible problems. |
