From the angle of the history of vocational education in Taiwan, this study discusses the developing process of the campus planning in the early stage of starting a university of science technology. The case study focuses on the sample school, National Yunlin University of Science, which were set up in 1988 by Ministry of Education to promote the development of the higher vocational education. The method of case studies is adopted, to understand the development of the new higher vocational campus setting constructed through campus planning. The result has indicated that the six factors of “school orientation,” “land,” “time,” “budget,” “development and planning of school affairs,” and “planning and constructing team” will impact the following development and the overall campus planning and execution. Besides,” the four factors of “land usage and zoning,” “building layout,” “campus road system,” and “open space” will have an effect on the campus order and image. |
