The purpose of this study is to explore full-time counselor's competencies in college counseling centers. The samples include 145 college counseling centers in Taiwan, include the director and the full-time staff, a total of 532 questionnaires were distributed, 104 colleges 218 valid questionnaires were collected. The results were: Firstly, the college full-time counselor's competencies contains: (1) ability of personal focused service, (2) ability of broad-based service, (3) ability of administrative communication and coordination, and d) ability of enhance the effectiveness of work. Secondly, the ability to personal focused service was the most importance abilities, followed by an broad-based service abilities, administrative communication and coordination ability, and the ability to enhance the effectiveness of work. Thirdly, Among the competencies of four factors, full-time counselors with the highest degree of ability for administrative communication and coordination, followed by personal focused service ability, the ability to enhance the effectiveness of the work, and broad-based service abilities. Forthly, in the importance of cognitive of the ability on personal focused service, full-time staff were higher than director of the center, with professional licenses staff were high than not professional licenses. Finally, the importance of cognitive of the ability on broad-based service abilities, not have the professional licenses were high than with professional licenses, and more that already have this abilities. According to the above results, this study discusses some issues and suggestions. |
