儒學社群遊記的地景意象──以《臺灣文藝叢誌》與《詩報》為例

Landscapes in Travel Notes Portrayed byTaiwanese Confucian Communities:Taiwan Literature Collective Journals and Poetry News as Examples

《臺灣文藝叢誌》、《詩報》為日治時期發行長久的漢文刊物，且皆以維持漢詩文於不墜為發刊宗旨，在台灣文學場域上頗具代表性。遊記牽涉文化觀察及風景心境，經由社群刊物的登載，而流通於傳統文人之間，故具傳播及論述的功能。兩刊物所登載的多篇遊記，敘事範疇涵括台灣島內旅遊及跨界至中國、日本等地，可作為研究其行旅記憶及地景意象的素材。藉由遊記的分析與詮釋，以理解此社群如何觀看台灣及海外的地景。這些遊記的作者多受傳統儒學的薰陶，當他們面對儒學價值與現代文明之際，文本中又顯現衝突或協商的因應方式。遊記常流露旅人從出發、行旅過程到回歸的體驗，故應用記憶、地景、敘事、再現、論述等概念詮釋遊記的文化意涵，並探究其挪用典故、參照比較、觸景生情、移譯轉化等表現策略。分從儒學社群文藝刊物所載遊記的場域意義、島內遊記的自我觀看及地方感、旅外遊記再現文化差異等面向，以探討遊記地景意象的意義。

Taiwan Literature Collective Journals (Taiwan Wenyi Congzhi) and Poetry News(Shibao) were two of the longest-standing magazines published in Chinese during theJapanese Colonial Period. Both magazines aimed to promote writings in Chinese andmaintain the status quo as well as the importance of Sinology; thus they became representativein Taiwan Literature. Travel notes were about writers’ cultural observations andperceptions of sceneries. Through publications in mass media, these literary works werepassed among the intellectuals and serving the purposes of propaganda and discourse.The travel notes published in Taiwan Literature Collective Journals and Poetry Newscovered local and boundary-crossing tours to China and Japan, which were appropriatematerials for the analysis of writers’ travel memories and portrayal of landscapes. Bylooking into these travel notes, we might have a better understanding of the Confuciancommunities’ perceptions on landscapes home and abroad. Furthermore, since thesewriters were educated under Confucian ideology, it would be interesting to know howtheir writings coping with traditional Confucian values in the face of modern culture.Travel notes usually reveal travelers’ experiences of tours, from departure to return. Thispaper therefore utilizes concepts such as memories, landscape, narrative, representation,and discourse to interpret the cultural meanings in the travel notes, and looks into vari ous writing strategies found in the travel notes, such as allusions, inter-text comparisons,pathos upon landscape, and transference changes. This paper covers topics including theimplication of travel notes from the publications by the Confucian communities, selfperceptionand locality perceived during intra-island tours, and culture differences representedfrom abroad to probe into the significance of landscape portrayals in the travelnotes.
