The writing style of Wen-Yueh Lin is plain and significant whichfully demonstrates her truly delicate observation of the world from thebottom of her mind. She perceives appreciation of life in keen and placidway; therefore, it is easily seen, for us as readers, in her prose piecesthat words chosen are simple yet, in fact, they are full of sophisticatedaffection inside.This paper chronologically presents Wen-Yueh Lin’s adventuresof prose writing resulting from dramatic life experiences. The firstchapter investigates Wen-Yueh Lin’s belief toward prose writing andarchitecture. The second chapter centers on revealing her perceptionof life experiences by means of examining her writing subjects. Byshifting locations, she associates childhood memory at Chiang-WanRoad in Shanghai with campus life in National Taiwan University. Thethird chapter mainly aims at Wen-Yueh Lin’s broader vision because ofsympathizing multicultural differences, including China and Japan.In the last chapter, Wen-Yueh Lin’s attitude toward life will beemphasized. Prose deals with diverse life aspects; however, it is greatlypossible that a prose writer shows his/her life perception instead ofrevealing the whole realistic life. |
