Under globalization, intense economic competition will induce local governments to adopt a governance attitude toward production factors within regions, and focus on management to increase productivity and attract investors. Therefore, for economic development by local governments, this study focuses on relevant theories and the necessary tools to meet the needed when selecting a target industry and generating an industry development map. This study uses Taipei City as an example for basic planning and policy establishment. Combining Industry Survey data with Shift-Share Analysis, Input-Output Analysis and Overlapping Analysis can serve as a basis for drawing a development map for target industries. With these target industry maps, planners can highlight development hot spots for each target industry and develop urban planning and industry development policies. |
