Huainan area was one of the agriculture flourishing regions in Tang Dynasty, and its production of food and economic crops, such as tea, hemp, kudzu, etc, was quite advanced there. Terrains in Huainan area were primarily plains and basins, and most parts were fairly flat with many rivers and creeks, which facilitated irrigation and made agriculture economy develop considerably.Additionally, the development of agriculture techniques in Huainan area was also the top one within the whole Jianghuai region because it situated right in the crucial location among interactions between the North and South. Therefore, Jianghuai region, including Huainan, gradually became the major tax source in Tang Dynasty government after Rebellion.Overall, agricultural production developed exceedingly in Huainan area because of its appropriate natural environment, advanced farming techniques, and the reconstruction of irrigation facilities. |
