Christina Rossetti, one of Victorian England's greatest poets, had a rich andcomplex relation to the visual arts because she was a member of the Pre-RaphaeliteBrotherhood (PRB), which was founded by her brother Dante Gabriel. Both herreligious works and “Goblin Market” to many people represented Pre-Raphaelitismin poetry. Christina Rossetti in her “Goblin Market” employs the technique ofword-painting to convey narrative details, to create the mood of scenes, and topresent thematic motifs. |
