City plays more crucial role in modern society. In urban context, the capacities of various learning organizations that devote to city learning definitely contribute to the development of lifelong learning. Among all learning issues, learning culture that could foster citizen participation is important to strengthening city’s resiliency and sustainable development. The study attempts to investigate the possible role and agency of Community University to promote active citizenship learning and social action in urban context. The author tries to analyze 8 local educational practices (a project called Creativity and Imaging the future in Education for Community University) of Community University operated by Non-governmental organizations, and discusses implications about possible approach that NGOs could engage in urban active citizenship learning. |
