Maintenance is the most crucial part of the life cycle of a soil and waterconservation facility. Numerous soil and water conservation facilities inTaiwan are located in remote areas, and the inspection methods applied by managementdepartments are inconsistent because checkboxes and textual descriptionsare used; thus, the assessment results cannot be effectively presentedand information exchange cannot be facilitated. For safety maintenance management, this study developed a set of codes applicable for inspecting thesoil and water conservation facilities in Taiwan. A coding structure requiredfor recording the inspection results was first established, and visual inspectionwas then performed to assess the facilities. Through calculation of theassessment results, the condition index and CI-level of the facilities were obtained;the structural damage and extent of damage extent were determinedto establish suitable maintenance methods. Finally, a decoding method wasincluded in a three-dimensional stimulation graphics model to present andenhance the readability and visualization of the inspection reports, and tocomplete a set of inspection report systems by establishing an inspection codingsystem for elevating the overall integrity of the inspection procedures. Therefore, this study can assist in future designs of building informationmodeling. |
