Under the framework of the nine-year curriculum system in primary schools, the curriculum of science education can be categorized into ' communication science and technology, the science and technology of biology, the science and technology of manufacturing, the science and technology of construction' and so on. Due to insufficient and inappropriate teaching resources, primary schools tend to conduct science education on subject base. In recent years, however, more and more primary school students participate in off campus learning activities during holidays and each social and educational institute is gradually organizing learning camps to help students to learn, especially science and technological subjects. By doing so, students' curiosity will be satisfied and the understanding of science and technology will be promoted. The purpose of this study is to discuss the importance and content of learning a communication and technology curriculum in primary schools through literature review. We conducted group interviews with primary school students who joined the 'Broadcasting and TV Program Summer Camp' sponsored by the National Science and Technology Museum and looked at students' understanding of basic communication and technology principles. We tried to develop the communication and technology curriculum in the museum and discussed whether the educational function was fulfilled. As a result, we proposed several suggestions for future reference. |
