This paper started from the discussion on the exhibition of The Dr. Mackay Collection of Formosan Aboriginal Artifacts describing the motivation of relevant organizations and the characteristics of international recognition behind Mackay Rush. The planner also contacted relevant social groups distributing Mackay recognition and based on this experience, we gathered information from various fields as the main concept of this exhibition. Certainly, these social groups were regarded as Focus and Target Audiences. Under the development of this concept, exhibition plan chose the strategic movement, from human to objects. The exhibition centers on two parts: Introduction of Mackay and his collecting of aboriginal artifacts. In the end, based on the original principle of In Memory of Dr. Mackay, the exhibition structure was presented in eight units. This paper not only describes Mackay Rush and the background of the exhibition and also analyzes concept, structure, and naming of this exhibition. In addition, the selection and application of items for exhibition were discussed. Based on these discussions, we conducted a further discussion on the itinerant exhibition arenas. |
