從學校到職場的性別區隔－－以臺灣航太教育與產業為例

Gender Division from School to Workplace － Case Study of Taiwan's Aerospace Education and Industry

航太產業是一種連結軍、工、學的複合體工業（The Military-Industrial-Academic Complex）它在21世紀的今天，已與人們日常生活息息相關，舉凡國際通訊、國防安全、旅遊運輸、太空探索都需要使用航太產品和相關服務，近年來全球航太工業產值已達1,850億美元以上，台灣每年產值也超過10億美元，從業人口近11,500人左右。這樣的產業給人的印象又常常和'科技的'、'理性的'、'男性的'概念放在一起，因此除空服員、行政人員外，其他從業人員多是男性，這種職業上的性別區隔現象，是傳統男女分工觀念使然？或其他因素造成？本文研究的目的，是希望從這一具有'男性氣概'的行業中，觀察職場上性別區隔現象如何形成？其中尤重在「教育」方面的因素。中外婦女的勞動形式向來隨社會大環境的變遷而調整，如西方工業革命、兩次世界大戰、或戰後嬰兒潮湧現，台灣也因戰爭或國家經濟政策的推動，而讓婦女從事不同形式的勞動，雖然女性不乏有出外工作的機會，但長久以來，女性所從事的總是低薪、低工作保障、類家務性的工作，這種情形必須等到婦女受教育權的平等方見改善。1960年代婦運的推動促使各國婦女受教育的機會普遍開放，但在學門科別的選擇上，女性與男性還是有不同的傾向，尤其與科學有關的理工科極少受女性青睞，台灣航太教育的情況尤其如此；教育上的性別區隔直接影響職場的人力分佈，因此台灣航太產業女性航太專業人員極少，雖然傳統男／女分工觀念，及工作性質也是影響因素，但吾人認為教育上的性別區隔才是重要的始作俑者。

Aerospace industry, a kind of Military-Industrial-Academic Complex, has a very c lose relation with people on a daily basis nowadays. For example, aerospace products and other relating service are used in international communication, national defense, travel transportation, and space exploration. In recent years, the production value of global aerospace industry has been over US$185 billion dollars and US$ 1 billion dollars in Taiwan, too. According to statistics, working population engaged in Taiwan's aerospace industry is around 11,500. It always gives people an image of the combination of science, rationality, and masculine; therefore, most of the workers in the industry are males except for stewardess and administrative staff. Is the gender separation on job stemmed from the concept of traditional male-female labor division or is it caused by other factors?
