As a museum serving for the functions of display, collection, and education are now encountering the problem of deduction in the budget each year and under the pressure of increasing competitiveness of competitors such as educational, leisure, and entertainment business. To keep museum's continuous operation, other than improving its efficiency in business management, social resources such as human, financial and material supports are heavily required. In Taiwan, museums have gradually learnt the membership system - so called Friends of Museum, form foreign museums and in hope to form its fundamental customer group which may later bring more different people coming to visit. In the study of public's opinion toward membership system, participants agree that 'Receiving information regularly' as the first priority amount the three services provided by museums. Therefore, providing members with the updated news of museum is an important tool that links museums to the public. |
