在宋遼河東劃界交涉的過程中，宋神宗與韓縝是全程參與者，因此本文專就韓縝受宋神宗的指示，如何與遼方進行交涉、會勘，以及後來如何受到指責，加以論述，並且在結論中，對宋國棄地該由誰負責，提出一持平之論。

Song Shen Tzung and Han Zhen played major roles in negotiating to Liao on the issue of Hedong's delimitation. This article examines Song Shen Tzung's instructions to Han Zhen's negotiation, the critics of the negotiation, and who should be responsible for Song's territorial losses.
