A 35-year-old lady initially presented with two-month history of severe pruritic shining skin lesions couple with one-month history of polyarthritis involving the joints similar to the patterns of rheumatoid arthritis. However, the laboratory autoantibodies, complements, and tumor markers investigation disclosed non-significance. The joint fluid study showed mild increased cell counts with lymphocyte predominant. The skin biopsy confirmed to be a case of multicentric reticulohistiocytosis. Non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, hydroxychloroquine, sulfasalazine and methotrexate were administered for two months, but were ineffective. We report this case for its rarity. |
