A 22-year-old man was diagnosed to have neuro-Behcet's disease due to recurrent oral and genital ulers, progressive left side weakness, ataxia and tremor. The brainstem involvement was proved by magnetic resonance imaging. Oral high dose steroid and pulse steroid therapy were tried, but the condition did not improve. After shifting to colchicine 0.5mg bid, the neurological status and mucocutaneous lesions improved gradually. An infrequent neurological subtype of Behcet's disease with favorable response to colchicine is reported herein. |
