文獻數位化典藏之回顧與展望

The Development of Digital Databases—An Overview and Directions for Future Development

文獻數位化典藏是為國家發展重點之一，如何有效的將文獻資料與電腦技術科技整合，做永久性的典藏與延續，並透過網際網路無遠弗屆的傳送世界各地，以達到資源共建共享的目的，這是時代之趨勢，亦是吾人所追求的理想。因其發展數位典藏不僅可帶動其他產業的發展，提高國際競爭力，又可增進吾人生活的品質與便捷，造福人類，真是一舉數得。故世界各國無不將此列為國家發展的重點，投入龐大的人力；物力，朝這個方向發展。本文試從世界各國，以及海峽兩岸對〝文獻數位典藏〞的發展軌跡，做一歷史回顧，後再對幾個主要漢籍文獻數位化典藏的成果做評論，最後提出未來展望以供參考，使吾人可置身在一個人性化；智慧化；便捷化，以及講究視聽覺享受的操作環境，垂手可得所要的資訊。

Computerization of databases is one of the important tasks in the national strategic development. One of the greatest advantages of technology is that people can share more resources that are preserved in digital format through the internet. In this article, I attempt to make an overview of the development of digital database in PRC and Taiwan for the past few decades. I will also provide my evaluation of several databases of materials of Chinese Studies. Finally, I would like to point out several possible directions of development.
