This article discusses the possibility of non-anthropocentrism in environmental ethics from a perspective of evolutionary ethics. This research tries to find a new approach based on empirical facts and the consideration of human happiness and environmental conservation beyond anthropocentrism and egocentrism. Evolutionary ethics reminds us that human beings should consider ecological balance and human interests in a view of sustainability, because those extreme orientations, such as egocentrism and anthropocentrism, are inadequate. |
