Current Status For the public to become more knowledgeable about communicable diseases, understand related policies, and support Taiwan CDC’s actions, the agency has created a health marketing program. It hopes that through a series of interactive events it can promote disease prevention. Goals To strengthen communication between the government and citizens on the risks of communicable disease, improve knowledge among the general public, and make everyone part of the battle against epidemics. Accomplishments 1. Monitoring and Immediate Response to disease preventio A news monitoring and alert mechanism was set in place to enhance communication of communicable disease control policies. In 2015, a total of 9,490 related news had been reported, in response to the public concern over the disease control conditions, authorities voluntarily hold press conferences and issue news releases to inform the public and intensify policy communication. Moreover, 92 press conferences had been held, 318 press releases had been issued, and a total of 904 news reports had been made. |
