Ralstonia pickettii is a waterborne bacterium that can survive at high temperatures and can pass through the filter. This bacterium has caused contamination of solutions in many countries, and also results in nosocomial infections or outbreaks. Clinical manifestations associated with R. pickettii range from minor infections to more severe invasive infections, the latter of which occur more prevalently in immunosuppressed or weakened patients. In order to ensure early identification of problems, prompt intervention, and effective infection control, it is necessary to monitor pharmaceutical quality and post-marketing surveillance, as well as standard hospital procedures. |
