This paper aims to explore the application of form in the exhibition space and focuses on the permanent exhibition hall of the National Science and Technology Museum. It analyzes and expounds the application of form in the integrated space, including the theme spirit, exhibition image, story (content) structure and performances, such as intensifying visit experience. From the viewpoint of the spatial “boundary line” it further researches in the form of defined exhibition area. It is primarily divided into applications of content form, common form, wall surface form, step form and symbol form. Though the integrated exhibition space formation expounds the theme, it is also the final explanation of exhibition. The expression presented by the exhibition area is the first stimulation when the audience experiences the space and the audience's impression of the exhibition is more or less affected by their experience in that area, so each kind of form must carry certain implications and information. The influence of exhibition space on the people varies with spatial designs. As long as the space is changed, it can also potentially change the people's feeling. No matter how the spatial form is changed, cultivating the atmosphere and feature of the theme, exhibiting the relationship and characteristic among exhibition contents, identifying spatial position and designing guide must take people's physiological and mental levels and esthetic connotation into consideration. |
