This paper aimed to explore the museum exhibition space of possible options to energy-saving lighting and it took the permanent exhibition halls of the National Science and Technology Museum (NSTM) as examples to discuss. This study found the permanent exhibition halls of NSTM still used traditional light source, such as halogen lamps, quartz metal halide lamps and traditional T8 tubular fluorescent lamps. Thus, this paper suggested using low-power ceramic metal halide lamps to replace the halogen lamps and T5 high efficiency fluorescent lamps to replace the traditional T8 tubular fluorescent lamps. But due to the T5 lampstand size is different from T3, under the situation of not changing lampstands, T8 high efficiency fluorescent lamps can also be used to replace the traditional T8 tubular fluorescent lamps. In terms of cabinet displaying, halogen lamps can be replaced by high- power LED lamps. Hence, the electricity expenditure can be reduced and the governmental policy of energy-saving and reducing carbon can also be responded. |
