Stalking is a widespread phenomenon that women facing. The former or current partners are the main stalkers. This study interviewed 17 abused women who had suffered their partners stalking threats to understand women's coping strategies and help seeking experiences. The results indicate women's coping responses including hiding all information, wary actions, adopting safe instruments, and asking friends and relatives assistances. In their asking help toward formal resources, the positive experience including worker's assistance and accompanying, information providing, and police's prompt responses. However, the barriers to the agencies including seeing stalking not serious enough, no clear evidence, and women' fear cannot be understood by agency workers. |
