The compilation of modern poetry anthologies is another innovation of the “Spring Chants: The Beauty of Reading Poetry Activity Series.” Poet Lo Chih-cheng was invited to serve as editor-inchief of the poetry anthology, Spring Reading: A Hundred Possibilities for Modern poetry. The anthology presents a brief overview of Chinese modern poetry (excluding mainland Chinese poetry published after 1949) and dispels the generally accepted stereotype of modern Chinese modern as difficult to approach. The anthology focuses on poets born before the 1960s and representative poems dating back to 1917. |
