Exhibition of Calligraphy by Yu You-jen
The National Museum of History (NMH) in Taipei held a special exhibition of calligraphy by Yu You-jen frim July 7 to August 20, 2006. Sponsored jointly by the museum, Center for Chinese Studies and Ho Chiang-shih Calligraphy Foundation, the exhibition featured 118 works by Yu, along with photographs, books and other exhibits introducing the life and achievements of the artist. Yu is known for the free and vigorous of the artist. Yu is known for the free and vigorous style of his early calligraphy works, such as Guang-wu jiang-jun bei and Shi-mem-ming from a series based in Northern Dynasty tablet inscriptions. |
