October 11: Andrew Wang, executive director of Asia Pacific sales at the U.S-based OCLC, and his assistant Ms. Tsai visited with NCL Director General Juang Fang-rung to discuss cataloging cooperation. October 21: Mr. Jens Boyer, director of the Library and the Information Center at the Goethe Institute Tokyo, met with NCL Director General Juang to discuss cooperation. He was accompanied by Ms. Hui-Mei Wang of the German Cultural Center. November 1: Ms. Hu Shih-gui, director of the Social Science Information Institute at the Vietnamese Academy of Social Science (VASS) in Vietnam, led a delegation of five, accompanied by Liu Chun-ying, director of the Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy Library at Academia Sinica for academic exchanges.
