NCL and Panama Sign Cooperation Agreement on Chen Feng-tian Memorial Library The Chen Feng-tian Memorial Library, opened at the ROC-Panama Cultural Center in Panama in August 2005, is the first library in Panama focusing on Chinese language resources. It has also become an important Latin American center of information on Chinese culture. The library was built with funding of US$300,000 from the ROC government. The NCL contributed around 200 volumes on Chinese culture and education to the library to enhance awareness of Chinese culture and Taiwan among the overseas Chinese community in Panama. Center President Fermin Tomas Chan contacted the NCL through the Panama Embassy in Taiwan expressing interest in signing an agreement with the library to promote technological, cultural, and information exchanges and cooperation.
