July 1: Benoit Tuleu, conservateur en chief of France's La Biblioth que Publique d’Information Centre Georges Pompidou visited the NCL. July 8: A group of 22 foreign visitors invited to Taiwan by the APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC) toured electronic information and digitization operations at the NCL. The visitors came from Vietnam, India, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Chile and Peru for ADOC activities. The center is sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and organized by the Taipei Computer Association. July 8: Edward McCord, Associate dean for faculty and Student Affairs at the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University, visited the NCL for discussions on the establishment of a Taiwan Resource Center.
