Excellent Government Publications Awarded Since 2001, the Cabinet-level Research, Development and Evaluation Commission (RDEC) has annually presented the Outstanding Government Publication Award to enhance the circulation service and quality of government publications. The award is presented in two major categories, including publication services and excellent publications of various government agencies. In recent years, the number and scope of government publications has steadily expanded. In 2003, about 6,600 such publications were issued, constituting a significant part of Taiwan’s overall publishing industry. Reflecting this trend, the number of participating agencies and publications entered for this year’s award increased significantly compared with past years.
