Conference on Zhuzi Studies and East Asian Civilization
The Center for Chinese Studies marked the 800th anniversary of the death Zhuzi with a conference this year on this influential Confucian scholar. The three-day meeting kicked off at the NCL on November 16 and attracted 115 academics and experts, including 95 from Taiwan and 20 from other parts of Asia, North America, and France.
The four topics of discussion were 1) Zhuzi Studies and Modern East Asia; 2) Zhuzi and Confucianism in Fujian and Taiwan; 3) Zhuzi's Commentaries on Literature and the Classics; and 4) Zhuzi Studies and Scientific Discourse. The event was organized by the CCS in conjunction with Academia Sinica, and National Tsing Hua University. |
