NCL Publication Wins Golden Tripod Award

Learning About Libraries and Information Science, a series of books published by the NCL to promote understanding and use of the library system, was selected for special recommendation in the Golden Tripod Award, sponsored by the Government Information Office (GIO), Executive Yuan. A total of 901 books were submitted by 255 publishers for the hotly contested awards, which were presented at a ceremony on August 19. The NCL series was published last year as part of the library's ongoing efforts to promote reading and lifelong education among the general public. It comprises 10 volumes on the usage of primary school, secondary school, university, and public libraries; Internet, audio-visual, reference and periodical resources; and the joy of reading. Each volume is illustrated and written at a level suited for the intended audience.
