With the coming of global aging and aged societies, enhancing of medical services, and prolonging of life expectation, quality of life and health care for older adults has been significant issues. According to ”male older female younger” trend in marriage model and longer life expectation in Taiwan, the number of spouse-loss older women is dramatically increasing recently and their health issues have been noticed, especially their spouse-loss adjusting process. The purpose of the study was to review the adjusting process of spouse-loss and how it impacts on those older women, and then, the benefits and promoting strategies of participating regular exercise in helping spouse-loss adjusting process were discussed. The study concludes that participating regular exercise are beneficial for adjusting process and calls for developing appropriate interventions or programs for promoting their participation in regular exercise to adjust their spouse-loss and to enhance wellness, and quality of life. |
