We described the nursing experience for a new immigrant woman receiving living-related kidney transplantation donated from her Taiwanese husband. Nursing care period was from September 2nd to 18th, 2014. According to Roy's Adaptation Model theory, we figured out patient's health problems including acute pain, high-risk infection, and knowledge deficiency by observation, conversation, physical assessment and nursing assessment. Then, we applied adequate nursing interventions such as pain control, prevention of infection, and providing health education to solve these problems. It is suggested that nursing staff should have concept about health and adaptation problem of new immigrants. In addition to respecting the cultural difference, it is important to provide professional nursing skills and appropriate information to enhance their confidence, quality of life and postoperative recovery. |
