The goal of the study was to investigate total response time (TRT) for different block steps under the fixed distance and jump altitude. Eight elite volleyball players (male, 22.9±1.5 year old, and 185.0±3.2 cm) were recruited in this study. Each of subjects needed to block by using two different block steps. The self-developed system was used to record TRT. Significant difference was analyzed by using pair-t test function of SPSS 18.0. The results showed that the TRTs of the subjects that used stride run-jump steps are significantly faster than the TRTs of the subjects that used together-slippery steps (1.69 sec vs. 1.72 sec, p<.05). The volleyball players with excellent performance of TRT can obtain more time as well as success of skill execution. The appropriate training can efficiently improve the performance of TRT. |
