In order to investigate the quality of chinese herbal drugs twenty crude drugs including: Zingiberis Siccatum Rhizoma, Xanthii Fructus, Belamcandae Rhizoma, Dipsaci Radix, Zedoariae Rhizoma, Uncariae Ramulus et Uncus, Arisaematis Rhizoma, Zizyphi Spinosi semen, Magnoliae Flos, Clematidis Radix, Thujae Orientalis Semen, Miltiorrhizae Radix, Stemonae Radix, Morindae Radix, Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus, Nelumbinis Semen, Sophorae Radix, Sophorae Seed, Lilii Bulbus and Gastrodiae Rhizoma, in a sum of four hundred samples were randomly collected from the markets in northern, central and southern Taiwan. The loss on drying, diluted ethanolsoluble extractive, total ash and acid-insoluble ash of herbs were investigated. At the same time thin layer chromatography was used for the qualitative analysis of some known constituents of crude drugs. In addition, high performance liquid chromatography was implemented for the quantitative analysis of 6-gingerol in Zingiberis Siccatum Rhizoma. The result was that the content of 6-gingerol was between 0.5-3.70 mg/g. |
