From September 1986 to June 1987, a total of 250 fish and shellfish samples, collected from the retail markets and supermarkets in Taiwan, were examined for the pathogenic bacteria. The results showed that 36 samples (14.4%) were contaminated by Enteropathogenic E. coli; 80 samples (32. 0%). Vibrio parahaemolyticus; 5 samples (2.0%), Salmonella spp,; 14 samples (5.6%), Staphylococcus aureus; and all samples contained no Shigella spp. And Clostridium perfingens. |
