The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of parental marital violence on children's problem behaviors. This study used questionnaire survey method and stratified random sampled 685 samples from grade five and six elementary students in Taipei. The instruments of this study included ''family relationship scale', 'parental conflict tactics scale', 'children's self-report problems scale', 'personal background data'. The major results can be drawn as follows: (1)The results of multiple regression of children's problem behaviors suggested that family relationship and parent's marriage had significant effects. The variables having significant effects increased gender variables in the multiple regression of internalizing problem behaviors and externalizing problem behaviors. (2)The results of path analysis documented that family relationship and parental marital violence had direct effects and family relationship and parent's marriage had indirect effects on children's problem behaviors. Gender, family relationship, and parental marital violence had direct effects and family relationship and parent's marriage had indirect effects on internalizing problem behaviors and externalizing problem behaviors. |
