This monitoring program of heavy metal residues surveyed fruits and vegetables from the markets of Taiwan in 2015. There were total 160 samples, including 26 leafy vegetables, 4 brassica vegetables, 22 root and tuber vegetables, 20 bulb vegetables, 17 fruiting vegetables, 12 legume vegetables, 4 pulses, 40 other vegetables and fruits, 14 herbs and spices, one mushroom collected for the testing of cadmium and lead residues. The results showed that the concentrations of cadmium ranged between N.D. and 0.070 ppm. The residues of lead ranged between N.D. and 0.130 ppm. All samples were complied with the regulations of heavy metals in fruits and vegetables in Taiwan. |
