Twenty-nine samples of infant formula and follow-up infant formula, collected by the local health bureaus, were sent to BFDA for the analysis of nutrients, including vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E, pantothenic acid, magnesium and iodine for thirty-three inspection items in 2008. The ratios of detected to labeled amounts of nutrients were as follows, vitamin B2: 80~250% for two samples, 279%, 300% and 318% for another three samples; magnesium: 242% and 251% for two samples; iodine: 80~200% for twelve samples, and 222~462% for nine samples; pantothenic acid: 131% and 140% for two samples; vitamin B6: 125% for one sample; vitamin C: 110% for one sample; vitamin E: 104% for one sample. The ratios of detected to labeled amounts for ten samples and fourteen inspection items were not compliant with the regulation set by the Department of Health. |
