Confronted with the increasingly enormous Chinese information in the 21st century, the National Central Library, in providing bibliographic services to domestic and foreign libraries community as well as their respective readers, attempts to achieve convenience and speed.The range of services are divided into three areas: one is the ISBN system which automatically transmits Taiwan Chinese new knowledge products catalog for selection and reference, two, upload OCLC for Taiwan bibliography, which provides books transcription and catalogue downloading, three, the National Bibliographic Information Network (NBINet), which under the web environment provides MARC 21 format catalogue downloading. This will solve the difficulties confronted by the East Asia libraries in the inadequacy of cataloging related to Taiwan publications.At the beginning of 2009, the NCL on ISBNet webpage will give a daily advanced information service. In the future, the thrust will be the possibility of inquiring the author, author's resume, bibliography, and the table of contents of publications. Furthermore, as the Library goes beyond its 60th years of books and periodicals exchange history, it wants to reach the goal of achieving simultaneous service of international books exchange and book cataloging, book arrival and book on shelf for readers' service in the meantime. |
