Social work administrators not only have to understand knowledge about social welfare management, but also should appreciate ethical issues related to their moral duties and obligations. Since ethics in social work administration remain largely explored areas in social work, this article will focus on ethics for social work administrators. Five sections will be discussed including: (1) administrative ethics and social work ethics; (2) core values for administrators and social workers, as well as ethical theories; (3) codes of ethics; (4) ethical issues emerging from the changing environmental context of social welfare administration; and (5) policy suggestions for professional development and social work administrators. |
