The questionnaire investigation method was utilized in this study to survey the knowledge, attitude, and behavior intention on global warming, energy saving, and reducing carbon emission of the junior high school students in Taipei area. Stratified systematic sampling was employed to sample the junior high school students in New Taipei city and Taipei city. A total of 1685 students were surveyed, and 1608 questionnaires were valid. The results indicated that the major information sources included television, internet, teachers, and newspaper. The knowledge of the students was not good enough, but the attitude was positive, and the behavior intention was in medium level. Moreover, significant effects were also found when compared with the students’ background factors, such as gender, grade, favorite subject, and parents’ education level. There were significant positive correlations between knowledge and attitude, attitude and behavior intention, and between knowledge and attitude. Therefore, teachers can develop courses about global warming, energy saving, and reducing carbon emission to increase the students’ knowledge, and it will bring more positive attitude and more active behavior intension. |
